Infloor System

An infloor collection system is most often included as part of new plant construction. Though occasionally done it is normally not economical to install this type of equipment in an existing plant setting because trenches and pits are required for various pieces of equipment. There are several choices of conveyors that may be used in infloor collection and chip processing conveyance.

Chip Plow to Briquetter System

A chip plow offers best solution to carrying waste chips from the machines to the briquetting area. Simplicity of design is one of the main features of this type of conveyor. It essentially has only one moving part and it will convey up to 1,000 feet. The chip plow discharges the collected chips into an elevating screw conveyor/shredder combination that feeds a briquetting press. Cutting fluids discharged by the briquetting process are typically filtered and subsequently returned to the machine tool for reuse. CSI has many systems working in the field every day that operate at a high level of reliability. (Patent #61259920)

Exclusive infloor feature

CSI has eliminated the necessity of having drives mounted in pits. Eliminating pit mounted drives in an infloor collection and chip-processing system is a technological break-through. This design was developed by CSI in order to improve system reliability and make maintenance tasks much easier to perform. The development of the patented Wadbuster® is the reason that the combination shredder and screw conveyor drive was developed. The design is quite simple. The Wadbuster® shredder wheel is mounted on a screw conveyors drive shaft. There are separate drives for the conveyor and the Wadbuster® since they rotate at different speeds.
