Briquetting

Briquetters have been manufactured since the early 1900's. It has only been in the last few years briquetters have become extremely popular. Previously chip wringers were the common method of removing coolant from metal chips. The chip wringer is the most economical method of separating the coolant from metal chips but some companies prefer to use the briquetter. In either briquetting or chip wringing retained cutting fluids will be removed from the chips either by compression or centrifugal force. The recovered cutting fluid is then recycled or sent to process waste. Chip briquetter systems and chip wringer systems eliminate labor associated with manual systems, improve housekeeping, reduce injury to workers, and are designed for ease of maintenance. A briquetter system or chip wringer system eliminates deductions for fluid contamination, reduce liability exposure for transport of wet chips, prevent environmental violations, and is frequently required to satisfy ISO 14000 mandates. Briquetting reduces the use of floor space. The cost of a briquetter may be equivalent to the cost of a complete chip wringer system. Therefore, to determine whether a briquetter is cost effective it is extremely important for a potential buyer, of a briquetter, to contact their scrap dealer and determine if the scrap dealer will take briquettes and if the dealer will pay more per pound for the briquettes.

It is not true scrap dealers or foundries will always pay more for briquettes and there is a possibility the scrap dealer will not take the briquette. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR SCRAP DEALER OR FOUNDRY BEFORE PURCHASING A BRIQUETTER.

The briquetter system is a much more complex than the chip wringing system due to the complexity of the briquetter. We have researched the market worldwide to find the best-designed briquetters. We have found many different designs and we offer the best of these designs to our customers. We offer American made, Italian made, German made and Chinese made briquetters. This allows for a variety of prices and choices for the potential user of a briquetter. We service and carry parts for all briquetters that are sold. Prices for briquetters start at $40,000.00 and go as high as $500,000.00. Our least costly briquetter system is $40,000.00 and our least costly centrifuge system is $25,000.00. Because of our large selection of briquetters and chip wringers we are able to fulfill the requirements of the small screw machine shop to the large scrap dealer or foundry.
