About Us

Chip Systems International, (CSI) is a privately held corporation located in southwestern Michigan that is evolving according to a planned growth concept. CSI provides chip and cutting fluid management solutions. Chip management includes conveyors, chip shredding, centrifuges, chip briquetting, chip washing, chip drying, and furnace chargers. Cutting fluid management includes coolant supply, coolant filtration and oil mist control. Chip Systems International is not bottom-line driven; we are small enough to be accessible to our customers and large enough to provide outstanding product performance. For the ultimate in performance and reliability, CSI has developed the NOVATEK PROCESS SYSTEM that incorporates chip collection conveyors, centrifuges, briquetters, chip shredding, chip washing, chip drying, filtration and mist collection.

Chip processing equipment is highly specialized and requires a responsive approach to customer service, coupled with the efficiency of a fully integrated company. It does not lend itself to the "off-the shelf" supply approach commonly found in large companies not solely dedicated to chip processing. A thinly integrated company without research and development, design, engineering and a complete production/manufacturing capability suitable for the demand of chip processing generally represents a greater risk of failed supply. Extensive research and development continue to be an integral part of Chip Systems International's objective investigating improved methodology in chip shredding, chip wringing, chip briquetting, chip washing, chip drying, filtration and mist collection.

Experienced People: A company is made up of people. The team at Chip systems International has proven experience in chip processing and is composed of qualified engineering, manufacturing and management personnel with over 100 years of combined expertise in chip shredding, chip wringing, chip briquetting, chip washing, chip drying, filtration and mist collection.

Customer Support: Our tech support department offers unparalleled customer service, as well as qualified installation and service personnel on call 24-hours, seven days a week. A spare parts inventory representing several hundred thousand dollars is maintained at the manufacturing facility.

Hometown Location: The main facility in Scotts, Michigan is a modern 30,000 square foot facility that combines engineering, fabrication, machining, and electrical control panel construction. A second facility, located in Kalamazoo, Michigan is used for research and development and fabrication.

Chip Systems International, Inc. is the world's leading supplier of state of the art chip processing systems. The CSI NOVETEK chip processing system represents the most significant technological advancement in the last half-century as it relates to chip shredding, chip wringing, chip briquetting, chip washing and chip drying.

At the heart of the NOVETEK process is the patented CSI WADBUSTER®, a chip shredder and flow control. This device not only shreds stringy chips; it delivers a metered feed to subsequent process machinery. Parts separation is greatly enhanced by an even flow of chips and the continuous wringer extracts more oil with a consistent feed. Further, and possibly most important, using a Wadbuster®, chip shredder flow control allows for the use of large diameter in-feed screws. A large diameter infeed screw and the CSI patented POWER FEEDER virtually eliminates the most chronic problem of "batch fed" continuous systems...bridging of the system infeed hopper.

The CSI positive pressure two stage PARTS SEPARATOR is more reliable and covers a broader range than traditional negative pressure designs. We can fine-tune it to a specific application without relying upon the limits of a weak negative pressure air stream.

CSI chip CENTRIFUGES are the largest in their class and are designed to provide long life and simplicity of maintenance. There are three (3) bowl axis positions; horizontal, vertical, and inclined and the bowl may be designed with smooth, ribbed, or segmented blades. Depending on the application either displacement or pusher centrifuges are available. Frequently chip centrifuges will be employed in front of chip washers or chip dryers.

CSI's NOVATEK system was developed under extreme working conditions. All components were stressed passed their limits in order to develop and design a product that would excel over all others. During this stage of development CSI engineers discovered the critical part of a chip processing system is not the wringer or briquetter, it is the components that processes the chips before they are fed into the wringer or briquetter. This led to the discovery that most chip system components are under-sized, resulting in high maintenance or failure. This knowledge enables CSI engineers to design the NOVATEK system: high performance, low maintenance.

Warranties: Chip systems International, Inc. offers a five (5) year warranty on wear, in addition to the traditional warranty of one (1) year on defective parts and workmanship. CSI warranties extend beyond the limits of the United States Uniform Commercial Code, indicating a product of superior quality.
